NASHVILLE 10, Round Rock 6

The Sounds collected ten runs on fourteen hits as they knocked off Round Rock 10-6. Sean Halton went 4-for-5 with three runs batted in to lead the Nashville offense. Matt Clark and Hector Gomez each collected three hits including a pair of doubles and Shawn Zarraga and Jeremy Hermida chipped in two singles each. Ariel Pena started and got the win with Jeremy Jeffress picking up the save.

Jackson 8, HUNTSVILLE 5

Jackson put up five runs in the final two innings to knock off Huntsville 8-5. Drew Gagnon took the loss after going just two innings. Eric Marzec followed with four shutout innings, but Tommy Toledo surrendered two runs in an inning and a third and Tanner Poppe allowed three runs in an inning and two-thirds. Nick Shaw and Robinzon Diaz each went 2-for-3 to lead the Stars offense.

Clearwater, BREVARD COUNTY PPD (Rain)

After being rained out three days in a row, the Manatees managed to get the first game of their doubleheader started but the rain came back and forced another postponement in the top of the third inning. The game will be continued tomorrow as part of a doubleheader. The second game scheduled for Sunday, will be made up as part of a doubleheader on August 9th.

WISCONSIN 0, Quad Cities 5

The Timber Rattlers were shut out in game one of their doubleheader as Anthony Banda suffered the loss despite striking out a career high ten batters. Chris McFarland had two hits in three at bats and Clint Coulter added a double. Johnny Davis and Rafael Neda each singled for the only other Rattlers hits.

WISCONSIN 4, Quad Cities 6

Wisconsin took a 4-2 lead in to the seventh inning, but Quad Cities walked off with a grand slam off reliever Tyler Spurlin for the 6-4 win. Victor Diaz started and went 6.1 before turning the game over to Spurlin. Rafael Neda singled twice and was hit by a pitch, Michael Ratterree homered and Dustin DeMuth singled and walked in his Midwest League debut.

Billings 12, HELENA 11

Billings scored a run in the 12th inning to defeat the Brewers in a back-and-forth contest. Josh Uhen started the game for the Brewers and allowed three runs over four innings, striking out seven. Ryan Deeter was the only Helena pitcher not charged with a run allowed as he tossed two scoreless innings and Luke Curtis was tagged with the loss after giving up a run in the 12th. Sthervin Matos had a big game at the plate, going 4-for-6 with a double. Francisco Castillo, Elvis Rubio and Gregory McCall each added three hits including a double while Gregory Munoz singled twice and drew a walk in six plate appearances.


The Brewers came from behind with two runs in the bottom of the ninth and then walked off with a run in the bottom of the tenth for a 4-3 victory. Yunior Santana went 2-for-4 with a double while Monte Harrison and Carlos Belonis each added two hits as well. Jim Henderson started and worked a scoreless inning and a third. Miguel Diaz followed and went 4.2 innings, allowing two runs. David Carver gave up one run over the next three innings and Brock Hudgens worked a scoreless tenth to earn his second win of the year.


The Brewers were off on Sunday. They will be back in action on Monday morning when they take on the Blue Jays DSL affiliate.
