Best GIFs of 2012: Brewers Baserunning | Disciples of Uecker

Disciples of Uecker

We'd like to go to the Playoffs, that would be cool.

There’s only a couple weeks left in 2012 and the Hot Stove has been mostly cold for the Brewers. To help pass the time, here’s a look at some of the better Brewers moments in 2012 in .gif form.

August 29 – Jean Segura’s Dash Home

Context: After driving in the go-ahead run in the 7th inning, rookie shortstop Jean Segura stole second. Cubs hilarity ensued as Segura scored an insurance run, securing a 3-1 Brewers win. Nice effort, Starlin Castro!

August 18 – WTF

Context: The Brewers were trying to dig out of an early 4-1 hole in the third inning when Ryan Braun hit a ball to deep left center. Jonathan Lucroy was on first, looked up to see where the ball was even though there were two outs, missed touching second base and had to go back. Braun was tagged out at second with Lucroy already occupying the base. The Brewers lost, 4-3.

August 3 – Braun Chases Aoki Home

Context: In one of the craziest games of the season (and one of the biggest bullpen collapses), the Brewers took an early 3-2 lead on a one-out double from Aramis Ramirez. Braun scored from first and was right behind Aoki, barely eluding the tag at home.

July 1 – GoGo Steals a Win

Context: When Carlos Gomez pinch runs in the 9th inning of a tie game, everyone knows he’s running. Diamondbacks lefty Patrick Corbin knew it, too, and threw over to first nine (9!) times before finally delivering the fateful pitch that allowed Gomez to make his move. Miguel Montero short-hopped the throw to second, and the throw to third hopped into the stands, allowing Gomez to hop home for the win.

June 12 – Little League Triple!

Context: Kansas City’s Luis Mendoza carried a no-hitter into the 7th inning against the Brewers before Braun beat out an infield hit…and kept running as the Royals threw the ball around the diamond. The Brewers weren’t able to score Braun, though, as he was thrown out trying to score on a sac fly. The 2-1 loss was the first game of an embarrassing sweep.

Which was your favorite? Feel free to comment.
