The Brewers added former Washington National and New York Yankee Brian Bruney on a minor league deal. There’s an out clause in his contract set for sometime in July, much like those of Chris Capuano and Kameron Loe, so we may see him up later in the season.
Bruney has had it rough since he was traded to the Nationals prior to the 2009 season. His control simply deserted him.
His walk rates are literally off the charts. Still, he gets a good amount of strikeouts – steadily around one per inning – and so as a low risk reclamation project, the 28 year old is at least worth a flier.
