Aaron Cook (R) (0-0) vs. Doug Davis (L) (0-0)
With Doug Davis in, the Rockies are going with a right handed heavy lineup. That means that Carlos Gonzalez and Jason Giambi (in for Todd Helton today) will be the only lefties that Davis will face today. Ryan Spilborghs will be in RF over Brad Hawpe, Miguel Olivo is behind the plate over Chris Iannetta, and Melvin Mora is at 2B over Clint Barmes. This is probably the weakest lineup the Brewers will face, but that’s mostly because Jason Giambi is in over Todd Helton, although Olivo and Mora are pretty bad at this point.
For the Brewers, George Kottaras is giving Gregg Zaun a much needed day of rest at catcher, given Zaun’s hamstring issues. Kottaras is a lefty, and hopefully he can take advantage of the righty Cook. Kottaras has a poor defensive reputation, so his work behind the plate will be something to watch. The rest of the lineup is essentially the same as game 1 -Jim Edmonds is back in RF and hitting 5th, with Casey McGehee behind him.
