Prospect of the Day:  OF Caleb Gindl

It proved to be a difficult start to the season for Gindl. He went hitless in his first four games before finally breaking through with a double on Monday. Those good feelings must have stuck with him on Tuesday, as the diminutive outfielder went 3-for-5 with a double and his first home run of the Pacific Coast League season.

It’s interesting the Brewers are playing him in center field to start the year, but they’re likely just attempting to expand his defensive versatility for an eventual bench role with the big-league club. Gindl profiles defensively as a right fielder. Unfortunately, he doesn’t project to hit well enough to be an everyday right fielder, so he’s more likely to become a fourth or fifth outfielder — hence his time in center field to begin the year.

Nice outing as well by Bradley. Any word on his speed?

One of the BC twitter accounts said he was touching 94, so I would guess he was sitting about 92.
