Game postponed due to snow.

Prospect of the Day:  RHP Chad Pierce

Pierce is perhaps best known amongst Brewers fans for being a UW-Milwaukee alumnus, but the Brewers drafted him in 2011 for more than his local ties. He threw the baseball well last year for the Class-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, striking out 115 batters in 124.2 innings and posting a solid 3.47 ERA.

His stuff isn’t overwhelming, but he’s shown an ability to miss bats yet again this season. He’s struck out 17 in only 10 innings of work — including six batters in his five innings on Sunday. It was his first start of the season; he had worked out of the bullpen his three previous appearances. If he can continuously spin outings like the one on Sunday, though, he may stay in the rotation for Brevard County a bit longer than anyone expected prior to the Florida State League season.
