Prospect of the Day: RHP Andy Moye
Right-hander Andy Moye found decent success last year in the Pioneer League, striking out 76 batters in 78.1 innings of work, but he has ratcheted up his effectiveness another notch in the Midwest League for the Timber Rattlers. His 2.11 ERA is bested amongst starting pitchers only by third-round draft pick Drew Gagnon (0.64 ERA).
On Monday afternoon, Moye struck out four and walked no one. He displayed his solid command of the baseball, mixing in a curveball and changeup to go with a sinking fastball. At 6-foot-5, he is yet another big-bodied pitcher who fits the Brewers’ new model of pitcher. The weight could stand to increase, as he is only 180 pounds, but that added muscle will come now that he works with a professional training department.
Looking forward to determining whether Moye takes a Mike Fiers development path or a Austin Ross development path.

Let’s just hope he doesn’t take a Mike Jones path to development.
I look at Arnett’s line as I used to look at Rogers’ line a few years ago: “Hey, there ya go. Maybe there’s some life left.”
that green and schafer start to turn it on…
