Prospect of the Day:  RHP Gian Rizzo

18-year-old Gian Rizzo has been nothing short of outstanding since joining the Brewers’ organization last year. He compiled a 1.82 ERA last year with 67 strikeouts in 64.1 innings, while only walking 14 batters. That success has continued into this season. Though he surrendered two runs on Thursday, neither were earned, nor did he issue a single walk and struck out seven.

I have not encountered any legitimate scouting reports on Rizzo, which is a bit frustrating, considering his supreme numbers for the club. I have sent a few emails out this morning. If I receive anything back on Rizzo, I will update this portion of the article.

And tip-o-the-hat to the awesomely named Tommy Toledo. He hasn’t allowed an ER since April 15th, 11 outings ago. Well done!

Not to mention Tommy Toledo has only given up two hits to right-handed batters all year. Yes. All year.
