Did not play.

Prospect of the Day:  1B Hunter Morris (Triple-A Nashville)

Despite slumping for the past couple weeks, Morris went on a power binge this weekend against Memphis. He went 3-for-9 on Saturday and Sunday with three home runs and six RBI, bringing his mid-season total to 13 homers on the year. The raw power has always been there, but it’s nice to see the power play in two-consecutive seasons.

There is one thing Brewers fans should be concerned about, though. He hasn’t really shown an ability to handle left-handed pitching, which is something he’ll need to develop if he wants to play everyday at the big-league level. Here are his splits:

vs. RHP:  .258/.348/.558 — .906 OPS
vs. LHP:  .208/.269/.403 — .672 OPS

He’s also only walked four times against lefties all year, so it appears to be more than a potential BABIP issue. It was also a problem last year. He hit .318/.378/.611 against right-handed pitching with the Huntsville Stars, but only hit .266/.305/.448 against southpaws.

Just something to watch throughout the remainder of the season.
