Prospect of the Day: RHP Hiram Burgos
What more can we say about Hiram Burgos this season? The 24-year-old has a 1.94 ERA in Double-A this season after dominating the Florida State League in the spring, including 118 strikeouts in 124.2 innings between both levels. His performance has been tremendous and would have to really tank the remainder of the year to not receive the Brewers’ Pitcher of the Year award for the minor league system.
Sure, lefties are hitting .300 against him this season and he may have a back-end starter ceiling, but no one can argue with the 1.59 ERA in 124.2 innings of work. Just tremendous.

Why in the heck have they not called up Jim Henderson for short relief? I think they will soon! Something has to be done.
How the hell has Burgos managed those numbers with lefties batting .300 against him? Wow. Do you guys know if he’s been more effective against them in the past?
