Prospect of the Day:  LHP Chris Narveson (Triple-A Nashville)

Narveson may no longer be in the picture at the big-league level, but he’s still very capable of stringing together quality innings. If he is commanding his fastball — which allows him to get to his changeup and curveball — he can be a very effective starting pitcher and rack up some strikeouts. He was efficient on Thursday. The southpaw only needed 93 pitches to go seven shutout innings, while striking out eight batters.

There are still obvious reasons as to why Narveson is not in Milwaukee. Opposing teams are hitting .280 against him this season, and he hasn’t found success against left-handed batters, which would be important if he were to pitch out of the bullpen for the Brewers. In some ways, that’s not surprising. He’s a fly-ball pitcher attempting to survive in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. That doesn’t usually result in positive outcomes for the pitcher.

Terry- 4 ER in 28 IP with 6 BB and 36 K’s, 1.04 WHIP. I’d call that a nice start.

I anticipate Narvie will be in the starting rotation next year. And why not???
