The Sounds scored four in the first and topped Albuquerque 8-3. Taylor Jungmann got the start and went six innings, allowing just one earned run to pick up the win. Jason Rogers and Hector Gomez each had three hits for the Sounds. Matt Clark homered, singled and walked and Jeremy Hermida, Sean Halton and Matt Pagnozzi each added two hits.
Tennessee broke open a 5-5 tie with a seven run eighth inning as Huntsville dropped their fourth straight game. Brent Suter started and went five innings, giving up four runs. Tim Dillard worked an inning and a third, allowing five runs, and was charged with the loss. Hector Gimenez and Erik Komatsu each homered for the Stars while Josh Prince went 3-for-5 and Nick Shaw singled and doubled in five at bats.
Jorge Lopez allowed just one run over five innings as he earned his ninth win of the season in Brevard’s 5-1 victory. Scott Lieser followed with three scoreless innings and Stephen Peterson tossed a 1-2-3 ninth. Alfredo Rodriguez reached base in all four plate appearances, collecting three singles and a walk. Orlando Arcia went 3-for-5 with a double while Tyrone Taylor added two hits and a walk.
Kane County, WISCONSIN PPD (Rain)
The Timber Rattlers game with Kane County was postponed due to rain on Saturday night. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon.
Helena scored three runs in the second and never trailed, defeating Ogden 7-3. David Carver started and went five innings, allowing two runs as he earned his second win of the season. Zach Hirsch followed with three scoreless innings. Francisco Castillo went 3-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in. Eric Williams singled, doubled and drew a pair of walks. Gregory Munoz went 3-for-5 and Brandon Diaz added two hits in five at bats.
The Brewers managed just three hits as they were shut out by the White Sox 5-0. Miguel Diaz started and went three and a third innings, allowing three runs and took the loss. Max Walla worked 1.2 innings without giving up a run. Kodi Medeiros and Andy Hillis each went one inning, giving up an unearned run and striking out three. Carlos Leal pitched a scoreless eighth. Tanner Norton, Juan Ortiz and Daniel Leonardo each singled for the only Brewers hits.
The Mets scored a run in the eighth to knock off the Brewers 4-3. Junior Flores made the start for the Brewers and went seven innings, allowing two earned runs. Rodrigo Benoit worked the ninth and was tagged with the loss after allowing one run. Franly Mallen and Julio Mendez each collected two singles and two walks, while Mallen also stole a pair of bases. Yerald Martinez and Kevin Martinez each added a single and a walk.
