The Sounds were shutout by Fresno 3-0. Jay Jackson started and took the loss, going five innings and allowing just one run. Matt Clark went 2-for-4 while Caleb Gindl and Hunter Morris each singled for the only Nashville hits.
Huntsville used a five run third to carry them to victory over Mobile 7-6. Drew Gagnon earned his tenth win of the year, going five innings and giving up three runs. David Goforth worked the final two innings to notch his 27th save. Josh Prince, Hector Gimenez and Nick Ramirez each homered for the Stars. Kentrail Davis and Yadiel Rivera each added two base hits.
The Manatees rallied from six runs down to beat Clearwater 7-6. Taylor Williams got the start and went five innings, giving up six runs. Stephen Peterson worked the final three scoreless innings to earn the win. Victor Roache led the offense, going 3-for-4 with a home run. Brandon Macias went 2-for-2 with a double. Orlando Arcia went 2-for-4 and Michael Reed added a triple.
Brevard scored five runs in the second as the swept their doubleheader with Clearwater 7-2. Chad Pierce started and went 2.1 innings, giving up one run. Martin Viramontes followed with four innings, giving up one run to earn the win. Parker Berberet went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and Nathan Orf added a walk and a double in four plate appearances.
Peoria rallied for two in the ninth for a come-from-behind, 3-2 win over the Timber Rattlers. Wei-Chung Wang started and worked 6.1 innings, allowing just one run on three hits. Clint Terry worked the final 2.1 and was tagged with the loss after giving up two runs. Rafael Neda had two hits for Wisconsin while Michael Ratterree chipped in a double and a walk.
In a game that saw 23 runs scored on 30 hits, Helena came up just short, losing 12-11. Zach Hirsch started and allowed five runs over 3.1 innings. Tyler Linehan followed with an inning and a third, giving up four runs. Wesley Cox worked a scoreless inning and a third. David Carver worked the final three innings, giving up three runs and was charged with the loss. Dustin DeMuth went 4-for-5 with a double and a home run. Gregory Munoz added two singles and a double and Edgardo Rivera, Mitch Meyer and Luis Aviles each contributed a pair of hits.
The Brewers scored five in the seventh as they topped the Cubs 6-5. David Burkhalter started and allowed two runs in three innings of work. Joshua Torres tossed 2.1 scoreless innings to pick up the win and Tyler Alexander worked the final three frames to earn the save. Carlos Belonis had three hits in five at bats. Monte Harrison and Juan Ortiz each went 2-for-4 with a double and Elvis Rubio homered and knocked in three runs.
