Sean halton, Matt Clark and Logan Schafer each had two hits as the Sounds beat Fresno 6-2. Hunter Morris and Adam Weisenburger each added a double while Eugenio Velez singled and walked in five plate appearances. Donovan Hand picked up the win after going six innings and giving up two runs. Alfredo Figaro tossed two scoreless innings of relief.
Huntsville’s lone run came on a home run by starting pitcher Eric Marzec as they fell to Mobile 5-1. Marzec allowed four runs in 5.1 innings and took the loss. Kentrail Davis doubled while Yadiel Rivera, Nick Shaw and Hector Gimenez each singled.
Clearwater scored four runs in the fourth as they defeated Brevard County 6-2. Tyler Wagner took the loss for the Manatees after allowing six runs in five innings of work. Scott Lieser worked the final three innings without allowing a run. Mike Garza went 3-for-4 with a double. Orlando Arcia had two singles and a walk, and Michael Reed went 2-for-4.
The Timber Rattlers rallied for four runs in the eleventh inning to take the series finale from Peoria 11-7. Zach Quintana started and went four innings, allowing five runs. Seth Harvey worked two scoreless before giving way to Chad Thompson who gave up two runs in 1.1 innings. Chris Razo worked the final 3.2 scoreless to earn the win. Taylor Brennan went 3-for-5 with a home run and a walk. Michael Ratterree also added three hits. Chris McFarland doubled twice and drew a pair of walks while Clint Coulter and Jose Pena each went 2-for-5 with a double.
Great Falls, HELENA PPD (Rain)
Helena’s game with Great Falls was rained out on Saturday night. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday August 30th.
The Brewers erupted for 14 runs on 15 hits as they beat the Cubs 14-3. Tyler Cravy started and went three scoreless innings. Angel Ventura followed with three innings, giving up three runs and was credited with the win. Joradn Yamamoto and Caleb Smith combined to work the final three frames without allowing a run. Troy Stokes went 4-for-5 with a triple and four runs batted in. Leudi Otano had a single, double, triple and a walk. Monte Harrison and Juan Ortiz each added two hits.
DSL BREWERS, DSL Braves CANCELLED (Rain)
The Brewers final game of the season was cancelled on Saturday due to rain. The contest will not be made up. The team finished with a record of 27-43.
