Nashville’s game with Round Rock was postponed due to rain on Thursday night. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Friday night starting at 6:05 pm.
Birmingham tied the game in the ninth, but Huntsville scored three in the 11th to pull out a 6-4 win. Jacob Barnes started and went seven innings, allowing just one run. Greg Holle allowed a run in an inning and David Goforth went two innings, giving up a run, but earned the win with Eric Marzec pitching the eleventh and giving up one run to pick up the save. Josh Fellhauer went 4-for-6 with two doubles. Yadiel Rivera went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a walk and Nick Shaw also added three hits.
Brevard tried to rally late, but came up short and fell to Tampa 6-4. Tyler Wagner started and took the loss after giving up four runs in five innings. Nathan Orf reached base in all five plate appearances, collecting three hits and two walks. Orlando Arcia went 3-for-5 with a double and Garrett Cooper added three hits in four at bats.
In a game suspended from Sunday, the Rattlers scored a run in the bottom of the 11th for a 2-1 walk-off win. Javier Salas made the start and went five innings, allowing just one run. Seth Harvey, Victor Diaz and Harvey Martin each worked two scoreless innings, with Martin picking up the win. Steven Halcomb led the offense, going 3-for-4 while Clint Coulter added two hits and a walk.
In game two, Wisconsin rolled over Peoria 6-1. Preston Gainey worked seven scoreless for the win while Luke Curtis tossed the final two frames and allowed one run. Omar Garcia singled, doubled and walked and David Denson and Taylor Brennan each added two hits as well.
Helena was doubled up by Idaho Falls 8-4. Jorge Ortega started and took the loss after giving up six runs, five earned in five innings. Tucker Neuhaus went 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Alan Sharkey went 2-for-4 with a double and Luis Aviles added two hits and a sacrifice.
The Brewers scored three in the eighth but it wasn’t enough as they lost to the A’s 9-3. David Burkhalter was charged with the loss despite allowing just one run in four innings. Tyler Alexander followed and went two innings, giving up seven runs, three earned. Juan Ortiz doubled for the lone Brewers extra base hit. Jake Gatewood went 1-for-3 with a walk.
Joan De La Cruz and Carlos Luna combined to shut out the Marlins as the Brewers earned an 8-0 victory. De La Cruz started and went six innings, striking out seven to pick up the win and Luna worked the final three scoreless frames to notch the save. Raphachel Colatosti finished the game with three hits and a walk in four at bats. Juan De Los Santos also added three hits, including a double. Yerald Martinez and Joantgel Segovia each chipped in two hits and Nicolas Pierre added a double and a pair of walks.
