NASHVILLE 7, Oklahoma City 3

Mike Fiers went five innings, allowing three runs as he picked up the win in Nashville’s 7-3 victory. Johnnie Lowe, Jim Henderson and Alfredo Figaro combined for the the final four shutout innings. Sean Halton went 2-for-4 with two doubles and knocked in three runs. Eugenio Velez, Matt Clark and Kevin Mattison each added two hits.

Tennessee 0, HUNTSVILLE 1

Jed Bradley, Tim Dillard and David Goforth combined to shutout Tennessee in game one of their doubleheader. Bradley went five innings to earn the win and Goforth notched his 20th save. Yadiel Rivera doubled while Robinzon Diaz, Hainley Statia and Hector Gimenez each added a single.

Tennessee 0, HUNTSVILLE 5

The Stars matched their game one performance as Eric Marzec, Tanner Poppe, Tommy Toledo and Kevin Shackelford combined to twirl another shutout in game two, with Poppe earning the win. Kentrail Davis singled, doubled and walked and Robinzon Diaz went 2-for-3.


The Mets rallied late to defeat Brevard County 8-6. Victor Roache led the Manatees offense, going 3-for-4 while Michael Reed and Brandon Macias each singled and knocked in a pair of runs. Damien Magnifico started and went 5.2 innings, allowing four runs, three earned. Stephen Peterson took the loss after giving up three runs in an inning and a third.

Dayton 9, WISCONSIN 3

Dayton rolled over Wisconsin 9-3 as Tristan Archer fell to 3-5 on the season. Rafael Neda singled, doubled and walked while Taylor Brennan went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks. Michael Ratterree belted his 16th home run of the season.

Grand Junction 6, HELENA 5

Helena tried to rally late but came up just short, losing 6-5. Javi Salas started and took the loss after giving up six runs, four earned in 5.2 innings. Chad Thompson worked three scoreless innings of relief. Brandon Diaz and Jack Cleary each homered for the Brewers while Gregory Munoz went 3-for-4 and Sthervin Matos added a double.


The Brewers put up a pair of runs in the ninth inning but couldn’t get the tying run across as they were clipped by the Cubs 5-4. Yunior Santana had a single and a double in four at bats and stole three bases to lead the Brewers offense. Jake Gatewood hit an inside-the-park home run and Carlos Belonis and Troy Stokes each contributed a double. Angel Ventura started and took the loss after allowing four runs in three innings. Seth Harvey, Jordan Yamamoto and Caleb Smith combined for four innings of scoreless relief out of the bullpen.


The Brewers were off on Saturday for the Dominican Summer League All-Star break. They will be off on Sunday as well and return to play on Monday.
