The weekend, particularly a holiday weekend such as this past one, often sees us lose track of our reading. Saturdays and Sundays are those days we finally break ourselves off from our screens, maybe go outside, and begrudgingly interact with our family and friends in the real world.
Well, if you were doing that boring stuff this past weekend, you missed out on some excellent baseball writing.
First, my colleagues here at Disciples of Uecker wrote some fantastic pieces, both here and elsewhere:
New writer Alex Poterack lamented the fall of Craig Counsell.
Jordan Mader pointed out how awesome Rickie Weeks is.
Toby Harrmann showed that Zack Greinke is on his way up.
Now, some things from other outlets.
R.J. Anderson of The Process Report on why his disdain of Casey Kotchman is still warranted.
I’m not above tooting my own horn: at NotGraphs, I declare baseball as the ultimate individual sport.
Carson Cistulli shows and tells us how awesome Kenley Jansen’s cutter is.
Nick Nelson talks about Joe Mauer’s return to the Twins’ lineup.
