We'd like to go to the Playoffs, that would be cool.

Roster Moves

By on May 21, 2010

The Brewers roster should be greatly improved for this weekend’s series against the Twins.

Catcher Jon Lucroy will replace Gregg Zaun, who is headed to the DL. This is certainly disappointing – Zaun had a wOBA of .432 and a wRC+ of 170 in May prior to the injury. However, Lucroy is an exciting talent and it will be interesting to see how he handles Major League pitching, assuming he gets any playing time over George Kottaras.

We’re currently awaiting confirmation on two moves. First, Carlos Gomez should return from the DL tonight, and likely push Adam Stern off the team. Second, a Zach Braddock callup appeared imminent last night, but a 40-man roster spot would need to be opened up. The most likely scenarios seem to be a DFA of either Jeff Suppan or Claudio Vargas, but neither has been announced. Stay tuned.
