Last night’s game was really, really awesome: the Brewers mounted a comeback in the 9th and a walkoff in the 10th complete with a John Axford appearance. I think it may be simply that it’s so recent that I’m considering it to be among the contenders for game of the year, but it was a really, really fun game to watch, especially given all the pessimism from everybody around this team, from the media to the blogosphere to the general fanbase.
So I want to hear from you. Which game do you think was the best so far this year?

The Craig Counsell walkoff sac bunt/Gomez sprint around the bases remains my favorite win of the year, but that’s probably because it earns extra points for happening against the Cubs.
I’m gonna say the best game of the year for me was our walk-off win vs. The Metropolitans. Yovani pitched the first CG for the Crew since his last one vs. The Braves, not to mention his first shutout. To top it off Corey ends the aces duel on the night of the relievers birthday. Classic.
Andrew, I think you’re conflating the 5/28 shutout by Gallardo of the Mets (the Hart walk-off game) with the 6/24 shutout by Gallardo of the Twins.
If we’re talking close games, I’d go for either the walk-off sac bunt game that Jaymes mentioned or the Gallardo shutout/Hart walk-off.
Truthfully, though, I’m a baseball philistine, and my favorite win of the year is the 20-0 lambasting of the Pirates.
I would vote for the game v. STL when Casey left the yard to win it in the bottom of the 9th.
I vote for the 5/28 Mets game. Gallardo’s CG shutout plus Hart’s walk-off were pretty excellent, plus Manuel pulling Santana was hilarious.
Maybe the game where Jody Gerut hit for the cycle.
I can’t vote for the McGehee walk-off against St. Louis, cuz Hoffman’s implosion in the 9th was just too gut-wrenching.
I’d probably go with the Counsell/Gomez walk-off sac bunt, or either of the late April drubbings of the Pirates.
Counsell/Gomez walk-off sac bunt against the cubs. Can It get any better than that? Did I mention It was AGAINST THE CUBS!
I agree completely that game was the best of the year by far. Perhaps it had something to do about the previous series with the Giants and how bleak everything looked up to that point. But they fought back and eventually won. I was jumping up and down and happy as heck that they hung together and won.
