Why I’m Worried About Braun’s Power

Quick hit today.

Braun just hasn’t shown the ability to pull the ball with force. Take a look at his splits to left field.

2007: 46.8%
2008: 43.1%
2009: 36.2%
2010: 22.2%

2010: 159

What made Braun such an elite hitter was his ability to drive the ball to left field, particularly in 2007 and 2008. Is he losing that? It’s hard to say just based on splits in just a half a season. What we’ve seen so far, however, is not encouraging.
