If you listened to last week’s podcast (and if you didn’t, you should get right on that) you heard an interview with Brian Carriveau, the author of the new “It’s Just A Game” The book follows the 2008 season of the Home Talent League, the adult amateur baseball league in south central Wisconsin featuring teams from dozens of communities in the area. I had a chance to read it and it’s a fascinating tale of small town America and the big personalities that can be found there, the lengths people go to so they can do the things they love, and most of all, of baseball.
Brian has offered us a copy of his book to give away as a prize here. To win it, all you need to do is guess the number of hits the Brewers and Reds will total on Tuesday night at Miller Park. Please send all guesses to firstname.lastname@example.org by 7 PM Central Tuesday. If you’re not the lucky winner, please consider stopping by at BrianCarriveau.com and purchasing a copy of the book for yourself or for a gift.
UPDATE: We have a winner. With a guess of 18 hits, @crichar3 came closest to the 20 hits on Tuesday night. Thanks everyone for playing, and if you didn’t win, please go buy the book!
